THE CHILDREN'S HOME

KCCWA have children's home in Arade Kifle Ketema of Addis Ababa City Administration and North Showa Zone, Deberberhan Town of the Amhara Regional State.

 

KINDERGARTEN SERVICES

KCCWA also provides Kindergarten services for destitute children in both places. A committee composed of community representatives, select the beneficiary children by prioritizing the families based on observable standard of living. The beneficiary children are selected from the surrounding communities. The services are provided for a total of 204 children out of which 72are in KG 1
In addition to receiving free pre school education, the beneficiaries receive one free meal a day and a school uniform including shoes once a year.

REUNIFICATION

FOSTER CARE PROGRAM

Contribute towards poverty alleviation by striving to bring about improvement and lasting positive change in the lives of disadvantaged children, particularly, orphaned, abandoned, and destitute children with the help and active involvement of the community at large

 

 

 

Under this program half orphaned or orphan            children living with close relatives or guardians        receive a one- time financial and material         assistance per year.

ELEMENTARY SCHOOL BUILDING

    Community Services

Currently KCCWA is waiting for the land it requested from the government to build the elementary school as an extension to the currently operational Kindergarten at Kaliti Kifle Ketema.

In addition, to the different project ideas in cooperated in the project documents, KCCWA frequently undertakes and offers refresher courses to its baby sitter employees in an attempt to improve their skills

 

            

In addition, a number of other community-based services are planned for implementation in the future within the project area.

Among these, the main ones are provision of Potable water points, communal latrines and empowerment of destitute mothers through income generating schemes.

 

 

SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM

LOCAL FOOTBALL TEAM

KCCWA also helps destitute children to properly follow up their education through the provision of financial assistance. Individuals, or adoptive parents who cover the destitute children's sustenance, educational and health care expenses, mainly provide the assistance.

To this end, to make the program more effective and to insure its sustainability a bilateral working relationship has been established with adoption agencies from Switzerland, Sweden, Belgium, Denmark, Spain, and USA etc. who are legally registered as an NGO in the country

 

 

 

Since August 2005, KCCWA's has been sponsoring a local village youth football team..
